FFS, who cares about the big ten and the pac ten playing in the Rose Bowl? If a team from another conference plays in the Rose Bowl, is that really the end of the world? USC-Texas, now there was a shitty Rose Bowl, huh? Aweful game, no revenue.

This is not rocket science; if people will put up money for the lowly bowls that 3 people care about, why can't someone put up cash for a playoff system? With 11 conference champs and 5 at-large bids, it would be done right. Who cares about the Rose Bowl? Texas in it a few years ago and other situations like that--that thing is blown up anyway. You want to preserve tradition--great, I am a traditionalist, but I get it; this system is broken, and it's time to fix it.

I believe in an eight team playoff. Six spots for major conference champions(Pac 10, Big 10, Big 12, Big East, ACC, and SEC) and two spots for at large picks. I guess this year Hawaii and Georgia would slip in.

ABSOLUTELY NO PLAYOFF! Keep BCS as is, play the bowls, and play a #1 vs. #2 game at season's end for the title.
You MUST NOT lose the excitement of the regular season. Losing even one football game should make you nervous, otherwise, you will destroy college football.

What happens when you've got 6 or 7 teams outside of the top 1 and 2 who can all make valid arguments for their case? What happens when you have 2 win teams ranking aheadof undefeated and one loss schools?

Ya, losing one game should make you nervous when 1 and 2 loss teams usually get in the National Title game while Hawaii this year and Boise State the year before win all their games and don't even get to play for a chance at a National Championship in an 8 team tournament.

If the Big 10, Pac 10 and Rose Bowl are so frickin' paranoid about this issue, why not just play the traditional bowl matchups in the quarterfinals??
ie: Pac 10 vs. Big 10-----Rose Bowl
Big XII champ---------Fiesta Bowl
ACC vs. Big East------Orange Bowl
SEC champ-------------Sugar Bowl
Big XII vs. SEC-------Cotton Bowl
Then after those games, you could reseed the teams 1-4 and play a 4 team playoff tournament.

There really isn't controversey. LSU and OSU proved to be the best 2 teams in the country. Tell me a couple reasons why another team should be in there.

you wouldnt say that if you were an Auburn or Boise State fan would you? both teams went 13-0. both teams left out. Anyone that goes undefeated in the SEC deserves a spot in the national championship!
