I think what separates Gwen for others of her era is that she worked hard to earn her stripes and the music is the key to her success. With the rest it seems the show is more important and the music is second. I love how she uses restraint and doesn't over vocalize or shout all the time i.e. Aguilera.

Well, the thing is... Gwen co-wrote this song with Tim Rice-Oxley from the band Keane. Keane is known to be inspired by U2, and a lot of their music sounds U2-ish. So yeah, going by that connection, you might be right about the U2 link to this song :)
