p.s.i went through and deleted all the stupid comments for the hell of it. this video has been up for well over 2 years and basically all the comments i deleted were about rose royce. yes, we got it...dallas is covering madonna who covered rose royce, it is nothing to argue about over the interwebz.

Why would someone criticize an artist for saying this is a Madonna song, since Madonna did cover it? Honestly, that reference fits this audience, for I doubt as many of them know who Royce was. Plus, this was probably written by some unknown songwriter from Motown or Nashville who zero of us know by name. People love to complain!

Honestly, his playing is better now. When he plays this on the baritone he isn't hitting the strings so hard that it's harsh. John Mayer describe his live playing to be like this when he was starting out too. He felt like he had to attack so hard, like he was fighting for your attention. Both versions are raw--guitar, vocals, 1 take-but his guitar playing and vocals are more stylistic, more controlled, more subtle at the moments they need to be subtle. I don't feel it's lost the energy, either.

It is a madonna cover. IF you guys actually listened to the music you guys were talking about, you'd realize this is more like the cover Madonna did. Rose Royce did this choppy version, Madonna made her version, and this is the same as hers.
