all you have to do is adjust mirrors so that the reflections dont blind you and dim the dashboard lights...your pupils do the rest.

think of what the purpose of the anti-tv laws are... to prevent the driver from keeping his eyes from the road. with this, the driver still has his eyes on the road.
i can see why it would be allowed.

This is a pretty bad system. A number of other brands are using the thermal imaging from FLIR, much better system as it does not need any illumination (no blinding other drivers using IR). It also doesn't need headlights to be on at all.

Haven´t you listened? The IF Light is famous for not blinding the others! It´s invisible! And a night view system without IR Lights isn´t possible!

I have a benz and i would hate to think how much benz would charge to repair that if it went wrong. I have been qouted circa £1200 just to fix a bloody sunroof. Repairing that would bankrupt me. Thanks but no thanks.

This copy Lexus infrared night vision introduced in 2003. Cadillac was actually the furst but used thermal imaging so it wasnt that good. Lexus technology is being copied by BMW and Mercedes.

BMW are using Pathfinder by FLIR which is a military-grade infrared imaging camera that needs no extra light (can operate in complete darkness and give you exceptional vision) and Mercedes' fairly crappy system (it can be dazzled by reflection and relies on there being an original source of light since it operates on light amplification using IR projection from the headlight cluster.

It's the auto industry, everyone copies eachother at one point or another. Think about it. Mercedes-Benz was the first to put air bags in their cars, as well as ESP. And now every Lexus have air bags a ESP. So who copied who?
