the only reason you'd buy this is for the 18x optical zoom.
if it has purple fringing on full zoom,it's definately not the one to buy.
but with seeing 12x on the canon and 18x on the fuji,anyone not knowing and wanting a good zoom would go for the fuji,when in actual fact it's hardly nearer than the canon.
also, i'm not keen on super wide angle (like 27mm or 25mm).they might squeeze more image in,but they distort verticles - rather like a fish eye lens obviously not as extreme.
but what i will say is that whenever i take it out with me it's for the main reason i bought it - so i can use the 12x zoom lens.
but most of the time the s51s suffices with the wide angle setting too.
and if it didn't for some reason,i'd just whip out my trusty ixus900ti which i always carry with me to see if that'd do the trick :)
Ive got a choice of either..... Fuji Film S8100fd <<
10.1MP, 27-486mm Lens.
Or
Fujifilm S100 Pro <<
Which im most probly going to buy, 11.1MP Sensor, 27mm-400mm.
Thanks
first, i would like to congratulate u on an awesome job testing these cameras. secondly, i was thinking of purchasing a Fujifilm Finepix F100fd. is it worth buying, or should i look for an alternate? wat i'm looking for above all is excellent image quality (rich color and sharpness)under all light conditions(i like using the iso settings too). the camera can be between 8-12 mp. or shud i look for (Panasonic:TZ5, TZ4, LX2; Canon Ixus 860 IS; Pentax A30;
just great! :)
like sony,panasonic,canon,samung.
thanks for your advise. however, i have compared the image quality of Fujis, Pentax, Canon, Sony, Panasonic Tz3s and Tz4s, and even Ricoh. Fuji, Ricoh, and Pentax had the best picture and color quality, with the most color vibrance and sharpness among all budget digital cameras.
