This is a fantastic book. I read it this summer before, during, and after my month in Italy.
I can't wait for her next book!

u certainly haven't read the book! even i'm inidan but she certainly knows more about yoga, spirituality than me. i'm afraid my friend if we indians don't practice spirituality and yoga like we used to do, in a few decades we will be taught that yoga was discovered by americans or europeans.

I saw the show on Ophra and I have seen a few videos of the author reading the book. I don't like the authors attitude. I don't like the picture that degrades India. And unlike you I don't have the time to mindlessly read books that mislead people. Make it your holy book if you like but stop spreading your gospel. We have enough problems in the world.

1) Education influences the way people perceive spirituality.
2) There are more than 800 languages in India. I respect all the languages of the world. English has become the language of choice globally because of the British empire and the American dominance.
3) Sanskrit is just one of the Indo-European languages. Majority of English words were borrowed from Irish, French, Latin and Greek. Some of these languages are Italic. Sanskrit is a Indo-Iranian language.

I am a huge bookworm and my recent visits to book shops eat, pray and love have caught my eye! I wanted to buy the book, but then at a library found it and read it. I would have to say this book is an AMAZING NOVEL! I've never had such an erge to read a book before like I did with this book. It's funny, entertaining and spirtual! Sadly, being a huge Oprah fan I didn't see the show when Elizabeth Gilbert was on, but whoever is reading this.. please pick this book up and read it. It's amazing!

And first of all I would inform you that Im balinese, Im from Denpasar-Bali and i knew ubud so much, and when you talked about the medicine man Ketut Liyer, no disrespect but He is Bullshit, He is a lier.He tried to sell painting for 200 US$ which is you can get in local market for 30US$. Becareful if you are tourist and u go there, ur guide and this old man can make money out of you

You know what cos Im Balinese i knew this book talk about medicine man name ketut Liyer, Listen I was there and He was making money of tourist by saying the good thing about this tourist, said that you will be rich, you will reach until 100 years old and the end of this healing you get rip off for 150-200 US$. Ms, Gilbert Im sorry when you went to Bali, you also got ripped by your guide coz that guide you hired was ketut liyer friend who rip u.
