I've been in a Buddy Guy's show in Greece about 10 years ago (can't remember exactly), and while he was soloing he came down to us and he was walking with his guitar between us, playing a damn f... great solo while we were following him all way through the theatre... Just an AMAZING concert!!!

Ya exactly. I never hear people play Hendrix's stuff exactly how he performed it, and it's good they don't. No one can capture the exactness of Hendrix, but if they can give the overall sound of his playing technique with their own style thrown in, I have more respect for them as a player.
Playing songs identical to the way they were written usually doesn't take as much talent as switching it up a little bit and still keeping the same feel of the song.

This is a poor cover! Bad tone and bad sound, bad playing, totally sloppy in any view! I seen much better than this, this is quite poor and weak! Buddy is really sometimes over rated! I mean he is still ok and decent, but there are people that are light years ahead of Buddy (from blues to rock music), and that beat Buddy by miles!

Well, grga, I agree the sound on the recording is awful. Outside that, thanks for the laugh... light years ahead of Buddy Guy--that's a classic. The man invented blues rock, and there's a reason Clapton and Hendrix idolized him. You should dig up some of his stuff from the early 1960's if you want to hear light years ahead.

this was not the best of his covers. it wasn't even the full version. I did see a live version he did in Hawaii back in 1995ish. That was the full version. I don't know whether anyone has a tape of that. Because to all the doubters out there, if you saw that performance, then you'd know that Buddy Guy is the friggin man.
