I'm sorry, but I believe the lyrics over there are a bit wrong. I mean, if you look at Slipknot's lyrics, they're filled with hatred and anger, but they make perfect sense and are extremely powerful. This one's a little weird at some parts and feels disconnected... I really don't know, it's just my opinion.

I was wrong to think the new slipknot shit would suck. This is a HUGE improvement from their last album. Not to mention the lyrics are awesome, for the most part it is something i can relate to in a strong way; much better than fucking vermillion. Im proud to say i like it. Fucking killer \m/.

I'm surprised that this was Slipknot when I first heard it. It's rather different and I think that's what attracted me the most. It was different then what I'd heard on the radio in a while. I love the song. I'm a bit peeved by the simplicity of the lyrics but they're enjoyable.

Speaking of the album generally I especially like that double layered screams with a drum blast. I think, the drummer either played e-drums or they might have used a sequencer - the sound of the drums is artificial in some songs (and wayy toooo fast and aggressive)--IMO.
Anyway, this album kicks ass I could'n wait for them to have it released!!!

IMO, with this album Slipknot combined some of ol skool metal, nu metal and alternative metal. It's not kinda it used to be b4...it's much better with much "mature" approach to the music.
They took their inspiration from DEICIDE ('notable on 'all hope is gone'), one of the most influential death metal band of '90s (according to their guitar riffage and drum blast)

Oh, Ok. The other two "drummers" are actually percussionists - smaller stand up sets players. I love the way the original drum set and percussion are synchronized. Anyway I just wanted to say that when the drummer plays "drum roll" on toms, artificial sound is notable (on some tunes), they re e-drums. But it's Ok (as long as they do it on just a couple of tunes), many nu metal/metalcore drummers nowdays perform it as well.
