Brian Leonard is good, however, the Giants don't need him. Brian Leonard is a big, bruising back. The Giants already have two, Brandon Jacobs and Ruben Droughns.
With Amani Toomer at his age and especially with his injury last year, the Giants need a WR.
Steve Smith was the best player available and the Giants took him.

You Giants fans aint messing around, you know and follow your players. I covered Steve Smith for years in H.S. and at USC. He's consistent, fast, never drops the ball, runs outstanding routes and is a good kid from a great family. Take care of him in the NYC, you'll see an immediate impact from him if Eli can get the ball in his hands! We still don't have a pro team here in L.A. so USC is like our pro team. Google leopold geans and I have more Steve Smith stuff under podcast archives!

He looks like a great route runner, and has good, fast hands. Seems like no ball is out of his reach. I am glad the Giants drafted him. We needed someone like him. Amani won't last much longer, and isn't even a sure thing right now.
I saw some game highlights of Steve Smith on youtube. I like how he gets open. He is a very good runner and can break off his defenders. I like that ability to get open.

Looks your prediction came true. Did you watch him the NFL playoffs and the Superbowl? He came up with some amazing clutch plays, that's just awesome, considering he missed almost the entire season and had zero NFL experience (prior to playoffs) that is worth noting. Giants fan will love him in coming years. Very hardworking, reliable, humble, quiet, and consistent. He was a stud at USC he will be a stud for Giants.
