Male brown bears at over 200-250 kgs, usually can win against most siberian tigers.
When the brown bear is at over 800 lbs, siberian tigers usually not even try to fight.
When it does happen they can be at serious risky of big injuries or even death. Tigers are lone predators so they can´t risk much and they know it.
When bears are at about 1000lbs,they are simply too much for the tiger. It´s stupid to fight with a such big foe.

But I really think that sometimes tigers try...For instance, siberian tigers sometimes are so desperate and hungry that even go inside villages to kill people or livestock and they know that´s very risky.
That´s the answer to the fact that some male adult tigers were alredy found to be killed by brown bears. It´s when they simply forget the difference between the effort/risk and the benefit. So it´s when these battles happen.

I was responding to someone who said the brown bear has no natural enemies, NO other point or objective was sought. I just pointed out that the brown bear's natural range overlaps that of several tiger sub-species which are enemies of the brown bear. I then pointed out that the brown bear's natural range overlaps with the larger, taller, longer and heavier Polar bear's range - and yes it is larger than the KODIAK brown as well. Polar Bear, the largest bear and largest land carnivore.

Achatina12, it's a forum. With a lot of opinions disparate with each other. I think the Nat Geo weights are more reliable which list FULLY GROWN male tigers as 600lbs or more.

but when it comes to cats, size dosnt always matter. apparently, siberian tigers are able to beat the adult male grizzley by stalking and sneaking up behined them, then leaping on to the bears back and biting into the skull. they make sure the massive creature cant easily reach it, then kill the bear by sinking its fangs into its neck and skull.
there have been official, and completely true reports of things like this happening. basicly, cats rule!

There alsow have been many reports of adult brown bears killing adult tigers, big cats are awesome and natural born killers, extremly cunning and fast, but even big cats cant kill everything lets face that, animals like Elepahnt,Rhino, Grizzly, Polar Bear will easily criple or kill big cats head on, do some research on lairweb or wiki brown bear or can you show were clear reports have been stated of tigers killing adult brown bears??!

Suicunesrider, I think you're talking about tiger predation on bears instead of an actual fight between these two.
And I doubt the tiger would penetrate the skull. Aren't jaguars the only big cat to do that?

Suicunesrider, A leopard is quicker and more agile then a tiger. Given your logic, it should be able to kill a tiger if it could jump on it's back. The tiger is much stronger and would knock it off. Same thing would happen if a tiger would jump on the back of the bear. Also, bears have strong bone structures. Cats are the ones that have low density skulls which a large bear could easily fracture. By the way, Grizzlies and Siberain tigers live in different continents.

A sib tig would be quite capable of killing a grizzly. Remember grizzlies ON AVERAGE (their size varies greatly according to geographical location) are at best the same size and weight as the tiger. Of course, where the two home ranges overlap, the brown bears there are as big as any browns found anywhere else in the world (aside of course from the Kodiak) and are generally larger than most grizzlies.

yes and in those canadian cage fights where its face to face without any sneak attack. there they have tested severeal animals. and grizzly bear was the surperior winner, killing both lions, tiger, and other animal.
Well by the way there is a HUGE difrence between a 325kg grizzly and a 650 kg kodiak. even such a sneak attack cant take that grizzly down. it will rush from side to side so massively that the tiger cant get a good grip. and when the tiger get tiger and fall off. BANG DEAD TIGER
