lol most of yall so IGNORANT..its laughable
HIP HOP ISNT DEAD...yall base everything off singles(BET/RADIO)
...its alotta different type of songs on niggas CDs...its just that the CLUB CUTS are the ones they put out as singles
if they chose different types of songs from the CDs to use as singles...yall wouldnt bitch
u see niggas cryin "i wish it was how it used to be now all they talk about is blah blah"
lmao stop complainin about singles and actually listen to niggas CDs or DL mixtapes
anybody who says ... ( 1 year ago by MactownGeorgiaBoi)
anybody who says THE SOUTH...or certain individual rappers killed hip hop...is dumb
the people who promote and put this music out did it...because they only promote and put out one type of rap now
however there still is a diverse variety of rap out there..from ALL regions...its just stuck on mixtapes and the undergrond
funny how u niggas leave out southern 90s material like Arrested Development..UGK..Geto Boys...Outkast..Goodie Mob...Ghetto Mafia...Cool Breeze..
A lot of you are ... ( 1 year ago by Smooth258)
A lot of you are idiots..I'm tired of these HIP HOP DICTATORS thinking just because the music now doesn't sound anywhere close to the music of their time that it's dead. Well as far as I'm concerned..they don't speak for the millions of ppl including me that think Hip Hop is very much alive and well..probably more than before. Hip Hop has gone from hood to hollywood..international if you will. Rapping about the hood and gangster shyt keeps Hip Hop alive??LAMES..get over it you old bastards

..as long as a song has a message...then its coo...
what yall seemingly dont understand is that a track doesnt have to sound/feel like a 1994 NYC track to have a message
yall stupidly judge everthing of off singles...and FEEL of the south
besides niggas like Soulja Boy and D4L...almost all these other cars have SOME songs with messages on their CDs or mixtapes....stop bitchin...even if u hate jeezy...he still has some songs with messages..

remember this wo is ... ( 10 months ago by jasarzulu)
remember this wo is buying this shit? 85% of all rap cd sales come from white middle class america in the suburbs its a fact look it up. so of course white america will put a music that does nothing but talk about selling drugs and women on the airwaves do you think that you would ever here groups that talk about positive things ok commen wow one act, hip hop has been pimped epmd said it years ago the crossover take time out and look that song up and listen to the lyrics.
The message is not ... ( 10 months ago by mactownjas31)
The message is not enough. There are 10000 real niggas in every city but that dont make them rappers. I'm from Macon 2 and i was thinkin kids my age used to have new acts like KRS1 Rakim and MC Lyte in 86. Or in 96 how they had 2pac Biggie nas and Jay-z. Ours is soulja Boy Hurricane Kris and Mims. We got cheated. And i'm not judging by 1994 nyc feel. I judge by the only thing that matters...Lyrics. As long as Outkast Ludacris Jay-z and T.I. are here its not dead but i cant deny its dying.

not dying - ... ( 8 months ago by cwebbatl)
not dying - transforming into the flavor for the functioning illiterate in society. soldjah boy sells because kids don't wanna think. they want it dumbed down. they're attention span is the length of my big toe because everything is "microwavable" and ready in 10 seconds. Wack ass rappers drop weak ass songs by the pound and they gobble it up. fuck reading a book or looking up a word Black Thought or Common used, that would take too much time. yeah it's still hiphop - and I USED to love H.E.R.
but Monie Love was ... ( 8 months ago by cwebbatl)
but Monie Love was still keeping up shit. and I'm willing to betcha Jay Z made that call to get her booted because she was directly starting MAJOR beef with two of his main artist - when the heat is already in the air btween the north and south

old school, new ... ( 6 months ago by gallyun1)
old school, new school, hip-hop is hip-hop, but there no balance in the game right now, the quality from most artists nowadays is not as good as from back in the day. hip-hop is not dead it's just too commerical and that hurts the quality of the music. Nas said it best, "it's good that were in a recession, now niggas will step their game up"
first off, Monie ... ( 5 months ago by Amunefuset19)
first off, Monie was a big, big, big, crush of mines back in the and secondly I couldn't said that better I wholeheartedly agree rap music totally overcame hip-hop and thats why we are where we are today.
its like the ... ( 5 months ago by Amunefuset19)
its like the struggle of the world, right now you gotta alotta foul crap goin on all over the place but it wasn't always this way and won't always be this way, its just that the struggle hasn't takin a turn in that direction but I honestly feel in about another 4 or 5 years we will definitely start to hear some different types music other than what we have been hearin over last decade, those that know what time it is know what I'm talkin about.

Jeezy is most ... ( 4 months ago by SonGotenEX)
Jeezy is most definitely not one of his "major" artists, and he's not even the president of The Roc, anymore. Not now, not even when you wrote that comment. Jay-Z has nothing but respect for those that helped pave the way for hip-hop, why would he front on Monie like that?
