For an example of good cop behavior check out this video from the 4th annaul Iraq War Protest in LA. You will see a squad of bike and foot cops ORDERED to march into the center of a permitted anti war demonstration during a punk concert. They create a line seperating the crowd. Tensions mount (no shit). Finally a cop with some authority on the ground say's "Why are we doing this?" Since none of the ranking officers on the ground have any idea why they were ordered into the crowd... they leave. That's a good cop. The one that says "why are we doing this" when ordered to do fucked up shit.

A police officer takes an oath to up hold the law and to protect and serve. They are held to a higher standard. The cops were trying to cover up the true reasons they were making the arrest.

Also, this did not look like a peaceable assembly and police have a right to protect themselves, just as you have a right to police protection. I huge issue for officer safety is distance. That is, they carry numerous weapons (like guns) that are easily accecable to any one who gets close to them. During situations like these, they have a right to keep people at a safe distance for officer safety AND YOURS. If you don't comply, then see my first comment. This sh!t isn't rocket science.

Let's make this simple for the simple minded. When an officer gives an order, just follow it. What a F*CKING concept. There is a system that is used called the "Control Force Continuim." That means, if someone does not follow verbal commands, they're going to go to the next step on the continuim and use physical force. If you resist, your now getting charged with a felony and once again the next step on the continuim is taken. THEY use force until YOU comply.

The camerman did comply, that was never the issue. The cops clearly stole his camera because they wanted the footage he shot.
You know that, if you watched this video, it is very clear.

Since 9-11 New York City officials have enacted new ordinances governing the recording of mass transit systems, government buildings, police, etc. Maybe he wasnt suppose to have the camera behind the barricade so they seized it. AND if he had caught some horrendous act by the police on his camera, WHY ISNT HE MENTIONING IT??? "The police STOLE my camera. How long before they just shoot us."
