The Super Bowl winner usually has a tough time the following year as well. The Giants are in the toughtest division in football. The miss the playoffs in '08 as mediocrity sets in and Coughlin goes too soft following his SB victory. The Pats on the other hand, come back hungrier than ever. They go 16-0 base don their weak schedule and weak ass division. 19-0 all the way baby!

The NFC East probably is tougher than any AFC division. The divisions are all mapped out weirdly and so the Patriots share a division with the Dolphins and the Colts are with Houston. Both of those pairs are farther apart than they should be. But the AFC is still the tougher conference.

Because the Super Bowl is one game. Anything can happen. You have to look at the records and quality of opponents for each conference. Honestly, it is not even close in terms of the AFCs superiority. You have the best QBs, Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger, Rivers compared to Romo and who else, Eli and McNabb? Not even close. You also have the best coaches as well, although you have to really put Coughlin up there now for the NFC but after him and Reid, it is pretty dicey.
