My memoir traces my tracks from a small segregated town in Florida in the 40s & 50s before the Black Revolution. Then I arrived in New York City for a culture shock that knocked my socks off.
I share my beginning as a young Black fashion designer and became the darling of the fashion editors, which was a novelty at that time. I had a fairy tale wedding to one of my models at the end of a fashion show. After closing my business I began a life in the NY cabaret circuit with lots of ups and downs.
After returning to the fashion business, many celebrities bought my fashions and many awards were bestowed upon me. Several years later I closed my business because it was undercapitalized. I took a little time out to discover what I wanted to do and became a tour operator, then a travel and food writer and finally a motivational speaker and producer and host of GlobeTrotter TV.
It's been a bumpy road, but though it all I've learned to endure and face life with a positive attitude. Through drive, determination and persistence I have survived. Yes I Can will inspire the reader that anything is possible, all you need is a
dream and then reach for the stars.
