As a true Red Sox fan (from Boston) we really dont hate on the new bandwagon fans that much because this is really a first for our franchise. The recent run of success for the Red Sox is worth it even if that means sitting next to someone at a game who knows nothing about baseball. Yes I will admit that having all these bandwagon fans will become old but right now everyone is just enjoying the ride. Its cool seeing ballparks like Toronto, Baltimore, Tampa, KC, and Anahiem packed with Sox fans.

Understand something...Without the Yankees you have no baseball and as much as I hate to say this, without the Red Sox you have baseball but a "bud light" type of baseball. Yankees/Red Sox is the Greatest Rivalry in ALL OF SPORTS. And when I think of football, I think of Bears vs Packers, you know the original 2 franchises. The Yankees and Red Sox deserve their coverage because its the Empire vs the Nation, their the 2 great superpowers. And one other thing...Super Bowl Champion NY Giants!

And I hate bandwagoner fans. Im a die-hard Yankee fan with season tickets and Im still a Yankee fan even during these dark days when the Red Sux are the Champs. Im apart of the Yankee Empire or Yankee Universe which ever you want to call us (there are tshirts that say Yankees Universe, so I guess its that but Yankees Empire sounds more intimidating).

go to a tampa bay v. yankees game in FL, ALL YANKEE FANS. go to a marlins v. mets game in miami....ALL METS FANS. the mets fans rule just about every stadium they go to. i am a mets fan, the mets have the arguably biggest fan base in the national league now. i dont think the tampa bay success will improve ratings.....but the fans will be happy....All 4 of them!

i am a mets fan who has had to got through thick and thin living in the shadows of our crosstown rivals and the divisional shadows of the atlanta braves. the braves won the NL East 16 yrs straight until 06 when the mets broke the chain. and all of a sudden the mets heat up and theres all these new ppl that claim they're fans, but theyre bandwagonning untill we lose 6 straight games sometime.

I was born and raised in New York City and the only reason this "rivalry" exists is because the Boston fans were jealous and frustrated that the Redsox got slapped around by the Yanks for 80+ years. I live in Tampa now and theres Boston and Yanks fans everywhere. I think its retarded. With the Rays playing the way they are this season, I'm seeing less and less Redsox/Yanks gear. Which is good. If you want to root for the Yanks, learn the history and atleast visit NY.

the jays used to own bseball from 85 to the 94 labour cut season. they only started to gain media attention after the first world series. People kinda forget that the Yankees were really bad untill the mid 90's. why I think the Yanks got more atention than the jays during that time (and yes the jays were the team to beat) was that the jays were worth 1/4th of what the Yankees were worth.The money is there and there is nothing we can do about it.
