When severe weather at the Euro 2008 broadcast centre in Vienna disrupted live international coverage of the semi-final between Turkey and Germany, producers around the world were forced to improvise. Here you can see Irish state broadcaster RTÉ's offering, as they reverted to analysis and discussion with Bill O'Herlihy, John Giles, Liam Brady and Eamon Dunphy.

| It's fascinating to see how each TV station coped during the error. ZDF just switched to the Swiss broadcast, but I wonder how legal that is? RTÉ did very well with their in-studio stuff, but if I were the director, I would have switched to the couple of foreign broadcasts which were working and dealt with the consequences later. |

| For all their critics, RTE did really well with this one. A programme like that where the running order's unknown going to air is difficult at the best of times - to have shots at the ready at a moment's notice as seen here is a credit to the production team there. The set looks brilliant as well it has to be said. Quality coverage all round - they passed this test with flying colours. |

| ESPN in America jumped to commentary to those in the studio & kept showing video from the Germany fan zone & the Turkey fan zone. So I think ESPN handled it pretty well. They were able to tell how the game was going based on the fan reactions. |
