OK, let me set this straight.... when it opened, there were many problems: 1-the trains were too small 2-it was placed in a remote area of the park. There were immediately complaints of roughness, so the first corkscrew was removed in 1994.

It operated until July 11,1998 when it failed to pass a test on the G-Force limits for Busch parks, so it was closed. Then, when a bird made its nest on the ride, it could not be torn down. then once the nest was gone in 2001, it was tested again to decide whether to reopen it. The answer was no and it was melted down with no hope to reopen anwhere in February 2002.

What song is this? I really like it..
On the the subject of Drachen Fire, I looked at old brochures and concluded I was there in June 1998...right before they closed it. I'm so disappointed it was too late to go on the ride and I was too scared to go on it :(
At least I saw it with my own eyes

I miss this ride so much. I visited the park 2 weeks ago, the last time I was at the park, Drachen Fire was still in operation. This was one of Busch Gardens best rides, Its a shame they took it out and replaced it with nothing.

The trains weren't too small, they were a more streamlined design, making you feel more boxed in. Also, the center of gravity was placed on the train.
I rode Drachen Fire ... ( 3 weeks ago by XH1927)
I rode Drachen Fire on its opening year, when I was 12 years old, and again a couple years later after one of the corkscrews was removed. I loved this coaster, it made you feel like you were almost constantly inverted. It did have a bad habit of bouncing your head between the restraints, which felt like misalignment in the track section transitions to my 12 year old mind. Apparently it was more fundamental, as it wasn't corrected when I rode it again three years later. It will be missed B-(
