You draft Felix Jones to be the speed back with Barber and also improve our kick return(just look him up)...Mike Jenkins is drafted because you can't pass on a guy that most felt could go as high as 10 and plus he is either the 4th CB on the team from day one or 3rd if Pacman is not back. Bennett was drafted, because Fasano was traded to Miami and the team felt Bennett fits Garrett's offense better. He is a all-around TE like Witten so it was a good pick.

Mendenhall would have been a good pick, but you can't take a player just because the fans or so called draft analysts believe he is better. You have to draft a player that fits what you want. Felix Jones can give Dallas way more than what Mendenhall would have given them. Jenkins will play even if Pacman is here. Teams do play more than 3 CBs. Bennett is much more than a 3rd string tight end and he will see the field as long as he produce.

See thats all good what you're saying but what you're not thinking about is the fact that Barber may go down and his contract is up next year. So basically if Barber goes down you don't have a 20 to 25 carry back. Thats why people wanted them to take Middenhall. Because he can back up Barber and take over if he goes down. Thats what you need in a #2. Felix Jones can't carry the ball 20 to 25times in a game. He can't. He had never been in a system where that is required.

Felix Jones wasn't a big problem I had with the draft. I always knew that Jerry would take him if he had the chance. Jenkins was fine with me also. But that damn Bennett pick blew my mind. Why??? and another question is why that soon. If you pick up another tight end cool go ahead. But not that damn soon. No when you had guys like Fred Davis from USC on the board. The biggest knock on Bennett is the fact that he doesn't keep his feet. He gets knocked off his routes alot at A&M.

Cowboys locked in on Bennett and I knew TE would be picked early after they traded Fasano. I just didn't know who it would be. Bennett was one of the players that visited the ranch, so he must have made a great impression on the staff.

Thats all good but at the same time you don't pick a backup tight-end in that early. Not when you could have easily got him in the later rounds. Bennett was an ok player in College but he ran his mouth more then he ran his routes. I hope it works out. But when he is getting knocked off his routes next year and dropping balls don't say I didn't tell you guys. If you gone take a tight end that early why not pick Fred Davis from USC who at the time that Dallas kept trading back was available.

Ok I find it hard to believe that if Barber goes down that the Cowboys would still have a chance to make it deep in the playoffs with Tashard Choice and Felix Jones. You call him a poor man's Marion Barber? Well to fit that to me he would have to be as big as Barber which he isn't and sorry but there is no man on this planet that runs with such ferocity as Barber. Maybe the Adrian Peterson but other then that nobody. Middenhall had the size and speed to help. That's why Pittsburgh picked him.

Trust me man Choice is basically a Barber clone. He might be a little faster than Barber though, but his playing style is just like Barber's and he's a tough runner to bring down. Another good thing about Choice is that he is a great leader. I think we can go deep if Barber goes down(hope he doesn't).
