I understand why Barkley was chosen but Dream could have taken it that year.
Anyway I didn't know playoffs had anything to do with being regular season MVP?! Both Barkley's and Olajuwon's overall numbers across the board were better then Jordan's that year.
Imo they finished 1)Barkley 2)Olajuwon 3)Jordan. Actually, I believe that's how the official 93' MVP voting went too.
Olajuwon 9th in votes? Where did you come up with that one? Olajuwon finished 2nd behind Barkley followed by Jordan in 3rd, and Ewing in 4th. It's a fact. Look it up.
PHOENIX - The debate lasted for months. Who would be the NBA's MVP - Michael, Hakeem, Patrick or Charles?
The answer came yesterday - Charles Barkley. The 6-foot-6 Phoenix forward received 59 votes and 22 votes for Hakeem Olajuwon of Houston.
A nationwide panel of 98 NBA writers and broadcasters gave two-time winner Michael Jordan of Chicago 13 votes and Patrick Ewing of New York 4 votes.
NBA officials recently announced that Barkley was the league's Most Valuable Player for the 1992-93 season, marking the first time in 10 years that the award has not been given to Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson or Larry Bird. Barkley, 30, received 59 first-place votes, ahead of Hakeem Olajuwon (22), former MVP Jordan (13) and Patrick Ewing (4). He was fifth in the league in scoring (25.6 ppg), sixth in rebounding (12.2), and averaged 5.1 ast.
Unfortunately, they are not even remotely worthy of eating his shit.
He had David that one year and he faked D-Rob so many times I lost count! But if you mention Tim vs.Hakeem,Tim has the edge. But then again Tim plays Power-Forward.He is still the best Power Foward to play the game!!When Tim joined the Spurs he beat them 5 years in a row... Where was Hakeem???
He is a all around player who can pass, steal, block and score could tim can't do it for 3 to 5 yrs straight, yes tim has rings but men watch Olajuwon videos in his early 90's to mid 90's, then tell we who's better.... Olajuwon is one of a hell great player his simple, silent down to earth but deadly he always kick ass in his prime no center or forward can guard this guy... period....
