Getting all the porn, pay-per-view, and premium channels for free is illegal! You should not buy a free-to-air receiver and a dish network satellite dish. You should not reprogram the receiver to receive all the channels for free. You should not download a hacked firmware called "fta bin file" to a usb stick and then plug it into the free-to-air receiver to update firmware. The receiver will now decrypt all of dish networks channels and that would be 100% illegal.

Doesn't look that complicated, all that acid and cleaning stuff is just to get at the contacts. There are multilayered circuits in a smartcard, so you have to make a hole in the upper layers to get to the lower layers. The problem comes if they put important circuitary directly above the critical parts you need to access in the lower layers.
