Our rights can not be taken or lost - only violated. Claims that the Constitution or any part of it has been lost, weakened, suspended or changed in any way without an Amendment being passed by Congress is a lie. They want us to think we have lost our rights, so we won't defend them. It is a trick. Laws conflicting with the Constitution are illegal and void. Olbermann is no fool and must know this, so why is he telling us otherwise? Don't let them fool you, and defend your rights.

You make great points. But think on this: The vast majority of the American people pay huge amounts in Income tax thinking it is the law and constitutional. The 16th ammendment was never rartified by 3/4 of the states as needed to become law. So it is unconstitutional to force an income tax on the people. We go along because we are terrified of the IRS. Or We assume it is law and it is A neccesary tax needed for our country to operate. Seems like this" TRICK" has worked for 95 years!

The terrorists at Gitmo lack US citizenship and they are "not" on American soil (Gitmo is on land leased to the USA shortly after the Spanish American War in 1898 and renewed by the Cuban government at a later date). I fail to see how the laws designed to protect "us" on American soil would apply to "them" on foreign soil.

The Constitution exists to protect US citizens on US soil. Gitmo holds no US citizens and isnt on US soil. So the detainees aren't under its protection.

Giving the police the power to lock up anybody suspected of being a terrorist who they don't have enough evidence to charge, effectively means they can lock up anyone they want. It means you, your gran, anyone at all. Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela were labelled terrorists and locked up. Mandela has been on the terrorist list in the USA up till this year. An 82-year old labour party member was arrested under the Anti-Terrorism act in the UK for saying "Nonsense!" at a Labour party speech.

These rights, according to the constitution, were given to us all by God. "...endowed by our creator...with certain inaliable rights,".
That means everybody is born with them, having been given them by God, but only some countries recognize them. America doesn't give these rights, we recognize them, and indeed even fight wars for them. It doesn't matter where your born, or what you did.
