Glad to hook up with others who 'got' Dave Allen's genius. I think he was at his absolute best in these more recent shows, and his 'take' on children's perspectives is pure gold - a legacy for the world. A lovely guy.

Dave Allen was on some public stations, but he just never quite caught on the way other BBC shows like "Monty Python" or "Doctor Who" did. In the mid 1980s I was lucky enough to have been in a TV market in which the PBS station manager was an Anglophile. About half the programming (it seemed) was straight from the Beeb, and this was Arkansas of all places!
I still miss Dave Allen, I hope our station starts airing his shows, and maybe The Goodies as well.

I had never even heard of Dave Allen till I read the Peter Kay autobiogrophy, now I can't get enough of his comedy, I do think its a shame that the BBC don't show vintage comedy sketches like this so newer generations can watch and become fans.

Thanks for all the fond memories Dave Allen. He is a legend and I am glad the You Tube community has made it possible to be able to share this with my kids who are now old enough to appreciate his wisdom. I am certain his impact will resonate for ages to come.
