Many people get soreness from back bend poses because they have too much curve in their lower back and not enough in their upper back. To take some of that "bad" bend out of your lower back, drop your sacrum. Which is a fancy way of saying tilt your hip areas such that your bum is dropping down and your crotch is tilting up. Imagine someone attaching a rope to the top of the back of your butt and pulling the rope out between your legs to the front and upward. Your lower back will thank you!

while performing 2 :01 i feel an extreme extension in the veins present at the sides of my neck going to the brain and my brain feels dizzy. i tried to overcome this problem by practicing gradually. but this problem is not solved since today. will you please help me out. moreover also tell me that what should be my dinner if i used to do yoga in the morning before sun rise.

Hi! ok. couple things that i think will help in this pose. One option is to keep your head in line with your spine instead of dropping it back. Try to relax as much as possible in the neck while keeping it in line. Also lift up through your upper back like someone is pressing up between your shoulder blades (like a serving tray). I am also going to do a video for you of a camel variation that is a good warm up and also gives you more length in your spine (and neck and head). :) thanks!

thanks so much for your prompt reply. i will do as you directed. please also tell me the details of diet, which will suit me and helpfull to increase my flexibility. here in pakistan we take eat three times a day and i used to do yoga in morning before sub rise.

Hi! Lift up and back instead of just back. this is probably why you are missing the feet and getting the floor instead. Another way to try is reaching one arm up and back a (like swimming the backstroke) grab your heel with the one hand and reach your opposite arm straight up so you can feel the lifting up feeling instead of crashing back. let me know if this helps :) thanks :) tara
