Video Description:
Just something simple for people to put on their MySpaces, etc. This is the version from the old VHS tape of Pulse (which IMHO had much better camera angles than the new DVD). The beginning and one verse from the middle (at 6:13) had to be edited out to fit it into YouTube's 10 min. requirement. But the whole movie they showed at the concert is here since it's probably supposed to represent Syd's life (or anybody's)....
This is from Earl's Court, London in October of 1994.

They had some good songs, but being brutally honest I couldn't care one way or another over his death. This goes for every celebrity, I don't know them and while they're music may have been great I nor you (for the most part) never really knew them.

They don't expect you to. He meant a lot to the band and obviously was a huge influence to many of their songs. The feeling that flows out of this song allows you to step into their position if only for a moment to realize what Syd meant to them - not what he means to us.

The thing is though that this was written for him when he was alive... when he was forced to leave the band due to his drug addiction. It was more of a pity and sadness song about his inability to give up his addictions rather than a tribute to his death, being as it was this song was first performed 30 years before he died.

Its not simply about the pity and sadness captainmoho, its also a celebration of what he started created and nfluenced. Without Syd there wouldnt be the modern day light and stage show.

dude, syd would have screwed up floyd bigtime, he wanted horns and go go dancers and thats part of the reason he was booted. Seriously, he left the band in 68, NONE of the floyd stuff people listen to has Syds imprint on it. Enough with syd already, he has NOTHING to do with floyds sound.

CaptainMoho, Chances are it was Syd's mental illness, and not drug use that made it impossible to continue in the band. Schizophrenia usually comes out during the late teens to mid 20's. While it is arguable that the psychedelics may have contributed, it is equally arguable the psychedelic experience and expanded consciousness helped him to tolerate the mental illness. Chances are high Syd would have developed schizophrenia with or without LSD, with or without Pink Floyd.

that's because this is pink Floyd minus The master Roger Waters, and when waters is in charge of the show , be ready to experience pink Floyd at their best.
or you can just watch Waters and his band to really see what Floyd is suppose to sound like.
