There is no outward differences between a semi-auto MG42 and a full auto one. The only differences are on the inside to the bolt and gripstick. And also the inside of the receiver. Otherwise it's the real deal.

Seriously why would you even try to tamper with your 42 its a collectors dream i would risk fukin it up parts are virtually impossible to get.
Thats a $20,000 piece of kit.
What do you mean ... ( 5 months ago by MauserMatt)
What do you mean tamper with? You mean why did I make it semi auto? Mostly because I don't want to go to jail... This MG42 was imported after 1986, which means it is not legal to own in it's original form. So the company that imported it cut the receiver into 4 pieces. When I bought it as a cut up kit the only way to make it shoot again is to turn it into a semi auto. If it was imported before 86, it would have been worth 20k. But as it is I paid $470 for the kit.. I wish it was worth that much.

I would love to know where to get that triger device? Coolest thing i have seen on you tube
The trigger device ... ( 3 months ago by MauserMatt)
The trigger device is built into the tripod itself. The pod is a German HK built MG3 Ground tripod. You can find them between $300 and $450 depending on where you look.
That remote trigger works a whole lot better when the gun is full auto... But unfortunately I don't have $40,000 laying around for the real thing..
Full auto is ... ( 3 months ago by MauserMatt)
Full auto is totally and completely legal in the US. You just have to live in the right state, not have committed any felonies, have $4,000 all the way up to $100,000 for the machine gun itself that you want to buy, and pay a $200 tax to own one. Basically, that's it!!
Full auto MG42's are now going between $35,000 and $45,000... They get expensive!!!

$470 dollars for the kit?!?! Sheesh! I've seen Krinkov kits that are over $700! What did it come out to in the end?
Alot.. I think I ... ( 2 months ago by MauserMatt)
Alot.. I think I have in the gun and accessories about $2,700 in it. That's including 2 308 barrels, 2 8mm barrels, AA tripod, ground tripod, 2 sets of 50 round drums in the carriers, 12 belts, and then of course I won't count the ammo...
Funny you should mention the Krinkov, I just bought one of those kits about 2 months ago for $850.. I'll still have less money in the Krink build though...

MrKips is FULL OF KRAP! I own three machineguns. I know a couple guys who own over 50 (big time gunsmiths/collectors). The rules behind obtaining a working machinegun are complicated, but you CAN own one. They are very expensive.
Let me qualify ... ( 1 month ago by DARIVSARCHITECTVS)
Let me qualify Matt's statement. Matt's not a licensed gun manufacturer. But since he is allowed under the law to make as many semi auto firearms that he wants to for his personal collection (not for resale), he is allowed to make/buy/possess a semi-auto MG-42. This semi-auto gun was made and registered by a licensed gun manufacturer. His gun is a real joy to own.
