If that were true, then why deny habeas corpus in the first place? ie, why take away the right to go to court to ask: "Why have I been classified as a terrorist? On what grounds have I been deprived of my liberty? What right do you have to detain me?"
At its peak, the number of detainees at Guantanamo was stated as around 700. Only 10 have actually been charged. Only 2 have actually been convicted.
What happened to due process? What happens for the random innocents accidentally detained?
