2008-2009 non-Equity national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, starring Ted Neeley in the title role. Directed by Dallett Norris; choreographed by Arlene Philips; musical director: Phil Edwards; casting by Dave Clemmons Casting. Rehearsals begin October 27, 2008; tour opens December 2008 and is booked through July 2009. Jesus Christ Superstar is a dramatized version of the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth.

His performance is simply amazing...this tour is coming back to Baltimore and I so have to see it again. I saw it last year and had front row seats. Watching this here makes me cry but to see it in performance...wow no words can describe it.

it really doesent matter that Neelys voice isnt what it used to be in this clip. This version still beats Steve Balsamo and the likes by a mile because of Ted Neelys exellent acting and nerve. This rendition brings tears to my eyes and a great respect for a fantastic performer.

more feeling, sure, but i was a bit bugged by his erratic cohesion to the actual music. i'm one who likes slightly offbeat interpretations, but that was really WAY off. still a heartfelt performance tho'.

Ian Gillan was and IS just the "best" Jesus...
No one can beat Gillan, Listen to Gethsemane by big Ian Gillan, he sings so emotionally that I'm almost crying while listening to it...
This man, Erik Kunze sing like he tries to sing simmiliar to Gillan... But no way... Ian Gillan is the only and the best one...
Don't even try to compare others with him...

By FAR the BEST Jesus EVER! Sure Steve Balsamo is awesome and Glenn Carter is good and so are all the others, but nobody can deny that Ted set the stage and the standards for everyone to live up to. I've met him many times. For those of you that have met him would have to agree that he is an amazing person and the only person who is "Christ-Like" on AND off stage.

I saw this show the last night at tampa, it was freakin amazing ESPECIALLY Ted, this song really immersed the entire audience, people were clapping for 5 minutes. Yeah. He's epic.

I (along with my mom) truly felt, when we saw this in Seattle last Christmas, like Ted was the weakest link vocally. On the other, I respect that he's done this show forever. But I can't help but cringe at many points throughout this.
