They might have whipped the boot files and getting into the kernel, you don't need to do that since your already in the root system. They just might have used "ps -A | grep virus" and then "sudo kill xxxx" to stop the Da Vinci virus and then "scp garbage user@host:location" to download the file and then had Razor and Blade to shred the hardrive like with "sudo shred -v --remove /" If hacking was done in terminal and not the virtual GUI. But Hollywood did a decent job with this movie.
