Instead of taking the bait, white moves bishop to B5, putting black in check, what is the best course then?
i believe black ... ( 1 month ago by shady8mile)
i believe black loses tempo for which when the knight attacks queen the queen has to run and then white can again move once more with a stronger initiative plus an early queen creates problems the queen will move again to go back to safety so 3 queen moves is bad for black plus i noted the bishop cant impact because its on the white squares i see u made a mistake already i mean on the analysis it does not impact the center because your arrow points to the black squares and its a white bishop

i never play this - too scared because a 1900 always beats me. safer on english, dragon sicilian and 2 knights.

what if pawn doesn't go. and instead of second pawn move he brings knight out. he then jumps you and if you go your queen is jumped by knight

shady8mile why comment when u dont know what ur talking about , the green arrow u r refering to is simply a way of him showing u his evaluation it was a small mistake on his part (do u think this guy really was trying to say a white sq bishop can attack a black sq ?....no he wasnt it was the software he is usings mistake he draws the line quickly and the software thinks thats where he wants the arrow to land) damn i respect ur comments an all but just look a little harder or research next time?

When the white pawn is pushed to e5, play bf5. Its good to get the white bishop out because in variations of french, the white bishop is a trouble maker.
Jrobi, great video man. Any chance on doing the blackmar-Diemer Gambit. I have a friend at school who constantly plays the Scandinavian and its good to transpose into unfamiliar territory

i always learnt the Scandinavian Defence as
white pawn to e4 black pawn to d5 white pawn takes black pawn. white pawn at c7 moves to c6
white pawn takes the black pawn and black knight at b8 takes the white pawn. is this way right as well

I have a friend whom I play daily who consistently uses this defense and I can't seem to take advantage of it, are there any lines that hold their own against the Scandinavian or is my best bet to avoid this line by pushing kings pawn again?

I'll bet I don't always rate your vids, but, dang! When I remember, it's always a five star game. Haven't seen any I haven't liked!
And, to be sure, all of my comments are with a grin....I try my best to follow a principled game (Evans) but with a thought to explore (Capablanca(sp?) and Fisher)

twenty years ago.
She doesn't even play chess.
Go figure.
Meanwhile, instead of thinking on the past, this is a great opening given Black remembers basic defence principles, as the very thrust up front is really a jolt to White.
I used to toss it out sometimes for surprise, but, nowadays, not so much into that thinking.
I don't really get to play anyone because all my chess playing friends are where I used to live. But, I still 'consider' some games
