I hope Spencer starts over Ellis. No doubt in my mind, Spencer could reach double digit sacks if he does. Ellis should be relegated to being just a nickel DE/pass rush specialist.

Yeh, I hope they move Ellis to 3-4 DE, and then move Spencer for LOLB. Only for passing situations. I like Ellis as our ROLB on run downs.

Ellis IMO doesn't fit at 3-4 DE, he's too small, he will get manhandled taking on double teams. Spencer IMO should start over Ellis at LOLB and Ellis should be relegated to being just a nickel DE pass rusher. It's not like he won't play much, with all these 3,4 and 5 WR sets offenses run these days, your in your nickel D about 60% of the time anyway.

Spencer, Ware should the 3-4 OLB's and Spencer, Ware and Ellis can all be on the field at once rushing the passer in our nickel D, we would have 3 legit pass rushers like the giants had last year.

Think about it, i'm only talking about passing situations. If we have Ware & Spencer coming from edges, and Ellis is getting doubled, then thats great. I would trade our DE getting doubled on a blitz then Ware or any other corner blitzers get doubled. And if they don't double Ellis, then he can penetrate if its 1v1. He ain't to small, Mickey couldn't believe how big Ellis was in person, and he see NFL players every single day.
If Ellis is doubled on a blitz, playing DE, expect a ton of sacks.

I see the point your making, but in passing situations you'll be in your nickel D most of the time, so how many times are you really going to be able to do that?
Just to give you an idea here of the difference in sizes between a "prototypical" 3-4 DE (i.e. Canty) and Ellis. I've met Ellis and Canty in person, trust me, there's a pretty sizeable difference. Height wise no, but body size/frame, yes.

I wouldn't mind actually seeing Pacman on kick returns also. This man is only a step down from Hester. He is that good. And with the depth we have a CB, it wouldn't murder the team if he got injured. *Knock on wood* Juss saying. I'm telling you, if we have him on kickoffs AND punts (With our D, expect a lot of punts) He can prolly get 6+ TD's on the year on special teams, and average prolly 35+ on kickoffs.
