Well the film version rights are owned by Universal. The reason the film has yet to be done was they have to wait 5 years at least since it's Broadway debut to consider making it into a film. As for Kristen, She has said in many interviews that she would be willing to reprises the role she made famous. Even Idina has commented that should would do it. But something as long as Kristen would do it and if Schwartz would be on. And he supposedly said he has some ideas for the film.

I absolutely would, says the actress of joining the cast of the upcoming film. I have a deal there with them, but if they dont hurry up I could be playing [headmistress] Madam Morrible. So they need to go now or Im going to be too old.

Oh No.. There has been a misunderstanding! I know Wicked is how famous it is. I was talking about having Annaleigh Ashord as Glinda in the Movie, not "the Movie" The comment I answered was " Kristin is not interested, now they're probably going to have Annaleigh Ashford" All I'm saying is that they wil probably get someone famous in the Movie. I LOVE wICKED
