Not so sure about the 'fairly easy schedule' (we do play the AFC South). I agree with your prediction on the Bears record, as long as they can run the ball. As for the Packers, it depends on how much of last year's magic was due to Brett. I can't put a finger on Detroit though. I do disagree with you about Jackson though. His hard work ethic and determination to be a solid contributor to the success of the team will help him get over the hump. Good post though.

There are many small pockets of fans outside of the great state of Minnesota. For instance, me (Tennessee). I get crap all of the time myself but it helps me stay humble and sharp. I can just wait for one stupid remark and completely destroy the s***talkers' credibility (if they don't backpedal out of it).

thats a good question about the qb position. as far as ap is concerned u might know what to expect but that doesnt mean you'll stop him.

Certainly that's something to consider.
I think the Bears defense comes close to beathing the Packers on its own this year (if they stay healthy) and Favre's presence would seal that deal.
I think 8.5 would be a reasonable over-under.

It's tough to win 4 in a row against a division rival. I think a Favre-less Bears team would certainly win one game, and the other game will be close and depend on the final posession of each team (could go either way). It's almost always like that between any two teams in the NFC North. Yes, even the Lions (they finally stepped up and competed with the division last year).
Even with Favre, I wouldn't be surprised to see a split. GB's defense is good enough to keep it close.

I appreciate the optimism, but the Vikings are playing Indy, Tennessee, New Orleans, Houston, Tampa, Jacksonville, the Giants, and Green Bay (twice). I don't think they'll only drop one of the games on the above list.
But I'd be very happy to be wrong!

I'm torn on the issue. I think he's certainly got the potential to put up better numbers than Jackson this year, but I was also firmly behind Jackson before Favre became an option. Favre is a high-risk, high-reward situation. If the Vikes get him, I'll be excited and nervous. If not, I think Minnesota will still have a good year.

I don't think there are too many rookies. We've got a lot of veteran presence on the O and D lines, which is important. Rice and Allison are young but look promising, I think. Greenway is young but already a pretty good linebacker. We all know what Peterson can do. Who are the rookies you're worried about? I don't think there will be many of them starting.

Good point with the weather. A savy veteran defense thrives in those conditions, while a pass-heavy team like last year's Pack will sometimes struggle to move the ball.
With emphasis shifting toward the run game and another year under that good defense's belt, Green Bay ought to be able to hold their own in bad weather games this year.
