He TOLD you why: The fans were incredibly pissed about what Lemieux did. The fans wanted to see Lemieux get hammered (and they did a couple times) at home. How does it placate the fan base by doing it on the road?
Yes, in fact, hockey is a sport where fans enjoy seeing things in person. Seeing a guy get hammered on TV doesn't do it for many people.

it placates it by showing that you're not afraid to fight anyone anywhere for the dirty play lemieux pulled. im a fan too, but if teams listened to what fans wanted, there would be mass chaos in just about every aspect of their plans.
shows a lot about mccarty, real character guy, he probably listened to his friends when they asked him for money to gamble away, then he drank himself into a stupor and should have ruined his career.

because they are not a tough team. seriously. they would have to worry about getting their asses handed to them, and yes, they most likely would feel more comfortable doing it in their own building out of the departure of their comfort zone at the joe, so they waited until a year later to finally do something after playing several times.
this argument is very valid, and as for the avs not fighting back on the road, i remember seeing patrick roy flying out of the crease to defend his teammate
