That's what i took from this.
OH, and also... my NON-LDS friend died in a LDS hospital in Salt Lake and they treated him like absolute SHIT for not being mormon himself. Nice to be on your deathbed for months is a religious hospital, being treated like an animal at every moment of every day.
The stuff heros are made of, indeed.
We laughed at them and convinced ourselves they were so lame that we'd do the complete opposite. We even used them to make fun of the one Mormon kid in our school.
BUT, we remembered them. And whether we knew it or not, the LDS had inserted the topics of lying and family values into our daily lives when we were not around our parents.
And I think deep down when we heckled poor Marcus, we knew we were being douchebags.
