Seven percent of communication is verbal. Shown a video of a person, people decide in ten seconds, whether or not the person is to be believed or not. When people gave Bush wins in debates, they obviously weren't listening to what he said. Facial expression, voice tone and inflection, body posture and movement, hand gestures, voice volume and emotion and the appearance of being in control are the main contributors to opinion and again, the actual content of the message is 7%.

American in Chile: -McCain attacked well. Whether or not the arguments made sence, he put pressure on Obama. However, his tone was very angry. Btw Mr. McCain should try to remember the name of the president of Pakistan. Obama held his own. Unfortunately, I felt that he was not assertive enough. Anyone notice that John McCain was NOT wearing a flag pin (unlike Obama) during the debate?! If it was Obama not wearing the flag pin there would be allegations against Obamas patriotism, claims that he is a 'scary' muslim, or even whispers of him being a terrorist!! So why do we not lay these claims at John McCains feet???? ? Why do we not question the Clintons for forming personal relationships with Rev Wright???? ? The same sad answer for both I think.

I'm not worried about whether or not someone looks someone in the eye......I'm more concerned with a president who knows what he's doing. I don't blame McCain for not looking Obama in the eye. He doesn't like him so what if he didn't want to look at him. This effects his abilities as president how? Also, he did not come off as angry at all, on the contrary i think and it's been said that he has an air of humility which is much more desireable than the arrogant attitude as that of Obama & Biden!
