Uhhhh, that's a very broad statement man. I think most people care about something, I just happen to disagree with most conservative values, and especially neocon ones - but they still care about them. And I wouldn't be able to put a figure on Republican support right now, I haven't been keeping up with US news lately. I'll catch Daily Show and BBC News later - I doubt it's as convenient as 51% though. I still think the odds are stacked in Obama's favour.

But yeah my initial point is, America isn't in crisis because of complacency, it is in turmoil because of a passionate clash of ideals. It ha significant arms of fundamentalism - Creationists for example - because they care. So by the same token when people fly planes into buildings, it's not because they don't care, it's because they genuinely believe their morally justified and not disgusting monsters. So most people do care about their beliefs - I just wish we all had humanitarian beliefs.

What troubles me is not if a criminal is punished for his crimes, God always has the last say, what troubles me is, if the people who make the laws choose not to follow them it sets the example to the public that the laws really dont matter and its ok to piss on em.
