And as far as New York goes, they do those statistics based on people to murder ratio. In 2007 Richmond, your city, Had 47 murders and they said that was the highest rate for a city in Cali. While in 2007 New York City had 496 murders, 801 all together if you count nonnegligent manslaughters. They named New York the safest City this year because they have less that 500 murders SO FAR.
