this is my favorite rendition of ruby tuesday. hands down, even better than the rolling stones original version. first heard it in children of men, and had to find out who sang this version.

What an incredible cover. This is what covers are ultimately suppose to do. The artist covers the song and makes it his own. Indeed the cover has surpassed the original. A very powerful rendering. The soprano, the piano and the orchestration give it a deep sadness. The Italian accent helps add another layer of intimacy and alienation to the experience of listening to the song. A tour de force! (Battiato has done the ultimate version of this song).
