It will take huge amount of money to build such railway between Shanghai and Beijing. They have Beijing--Shanghai air express way which conducted by Air China, China Eastern, Shanghai Airlines, China Southern and Hainan Airlines. There's a flight departing from beijing to shanghai every half an hour

@Samurai: Why is the Transrapid more dangerous? There was only one Accident on the test Track and the reason was not the technology.

Japan's JR completed full-fledged Maglev Train earier
than German. But commercial operation have not started yet,
because JR have taken time to test human and environmental impact.
Of course MONEY is also the reason But it's not major reason.
This is the same as other Japanese companies.
Consequently, Most of "made in Japan" stuff is higher quality
and safer than most of Germany's one nowadays.

For example , Let's see the case of bullet trains.
Shinkansen, during the 44-year, nearly 7 billion passenger history,
there have been no passenger fatalities due to derailments or collisions
including earthquakes and typhoons.
In comparison, there have been Germany's InterCityExpress accidents
resulting in fatalities, despite running in areas without major risk from
either typhoons or earthquakes.
Maglev Train and all other stuff is the same pattern.

Recentry I've seen the news of Consumer research about
favorite cars by German in Germany .
Surprisingly, Best 3s are all Japanese cars.
More than harf of Best 10's are Japanese cars.
Besides,This trend's been already for several years.
Even German in Germany favore Japanese stuff.
This result explain everything about position of
"made in Japan" stuff" and "made in Germany" ones.

I can't understand why we don't have this in the United States in the Northeast Supercorridor.
Have only 4 stops: Washington, Phili, New York City and Boston...It would be faster than the Airports/Plane Ride.. and it uses less energy per mile per passenger than a airplane.

Too expensive would be my guess, with the war and the economy. I hope one day to have it in Europe and the US, would be awesome!

* Pull out of Iraq.
* Borrow more money from China.
If McCain wins, don't expect that to happen, as he'll go invade Iran.

1. Private companies dont want to push for that
2. Federal Government would rather spend transportation dollars on smaller public transit efforts.
3. It would put airlines out of buisness, and anyone who has seen south park knows the government will do anything to help the airlines.
Its not because of the war or anything else like that, its because theres no real profit in it.

There is a large track in germany. But it isn't commercially used. Only for show and testing.
And forget about one in the US, the US government is too busy spending dollars on useless wars instead of infrastructure.

You know why we don't have it in the US? The airline and automobile industries are too strong. Their lobbyists in Washington prevent Congress from passing any resolutions to build one.
