the interpreation ... ( 10 months ago by marcelmombeek)
the interpreation of this particular piece in this particular concert: indeed, my opinion is that every last years student (and maybe others also) their performance will be much much much better as this one. this one is just playing the note's.

its an etude, which means study. They were written to improve ones technique. So in this case interpretation and proper style isnt as important because these were played while the player practices. opinion is opinion. i cba to argue any more..

Mr. Mombeek is well known as a *musician* of great virtue... In his opinion Richter is "bad musician" and Rubinstein is probably even worse (or slightly better?). Mr. Mombeek also a great *educator* and has a mission to convert YT music community into army of Liberace's fans. As one can see his personal musical taste is impeccable! ;)

"if the world whas like you" we'd have a case of reverse evolution... someone can read, write and even press piano keys... alas Neanderthal! ;)

Why should we give ... ( 7 months ago by cholapat)
Why should we give a negative critique to a positive performance??
And why are you insist on being negative??
You simply don't hear the very simple but yet one of the best musical element inside this performance.
No matter how negatively you try to speak about this performance .. Rubinstein is still a very good and extraordinary musician.

might have been the greatest virtuoso who ever lived...i doubted.....but when i listen to this i shall agree!:))

now horowitz and rubinstein might have been the greatest when they lived, but let us not disregard of the genuin classical composers. beethoven, mozart, rachmaninoff (who to some extent actually was contemporary with horowitz), brahms, debussy, chopin, etc. all these were masters of piano, specialised upon certain cathegories. They were all genious, all in different senses of the word.
..and who ... ( 1 month ago by voolare)
..and who disregards them? btw, forgetting Liszt in your list is a disregard in itself;-) Bramhs and Debussy were good pianists, but certainly not at the level of their contemporary best interpreters)
