Lyrics according to patdonline.com:
When the Moon fell in love with the Sun
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night
When the Sun found the Moon
She was drinking tea out in a garden
Under the green umbrella trees
In the middle of summer
When the Moon found the Sun
He looked like he was barely hanging on
While her eyes saved his life
In the middle of summer
In the middle of summer
In the middle of summer
In the middle of summer (oh oh oh oh)
Well, he was just hanging around
Then he fell in love
And he didn't know how
But he couldn't get out
Just hanging around and he fell in love
In the middle of summer
In the middle of summer (oh oh oh oh)
When the Moon fell in love with the Sun
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night
So he said, "Would it be alright,
If we just sat and talked for a little while?
If in exchange for your time
I give you this smile"
So she said, "Hey that's ok,
As long as you can make a promise not to break
My little heart and
Leave me all alone
In the summer"
Dreamed this dream when seventeen
In a garden under green umbrella trees
While we dreamed through the wildest dreams
In the middle of summer
In the middle of summer
In the middle of summer
In the middle of summer (oh oh oh oh)
When the Moon fell in love with the Sun

aha brendons voice is amazing.
i like this a lot better than the cd version no offense to panic.
i don't think panic would be offended at all.
this one is THEIR version and no one else's.
on the CD i'm sure their producer messed around with it. (they probably did too.)
this one is waaaay better.
it makes my heart melt.
i'm so bummed they didn't play it on the HCT. :(
I dunno it just kind of screams 'it's summertime, i'm in love, and everythings great'
while the other one was like, a ballad.
In fact I think Panic was contemplating not using because they were worried it wouldn't be as simple with all the fucking around they did with it.
I mean the album is much cleaner and I guess controlled
But this sounds a lot more effortless to me than the album
LOL... i like both versions
very MUCH :)
Really into the song, are you Jonny Boy? :D
