It's encouraging to see MSNBC showing youtube videos on their channel without asking the creators, offering compensation or even giving them credit. What's even more interesting is that Viacom has done the same thing.

Question though, I'm from Canada, so does that mean Viacom has my info too? Cuz it's the US Senate that voted on this, so can they take my info because of the ruling comming from a different country? Might be a stupid question, i don't know, but i'm curious as to how that works.
A law needs to be passed that forces Google to delate such information in every country.
Before talking about "invasion of privacy" crap in relation to the internet, get a book about it and learn how the internet works. Its just that simple!
as far as copywrite it's call fair use and any laws are only a matter of Congress.
it's just that simple.
Viacom asked a court for the entire Google key stroke database - you do know that Google stores every key stroke you make on all it's products, including You Tube, right? That means ever video you watch, how long and how many times you watched it etc. is what Viacom wants. The court ruled in Viacoms favor. So if you ever watched anything that was copy written you're guilty as hell and Google can prove it.
