You are wrong. ...( 8 months ago by MrAlGator)
You are wrong. Chevalier in fact was the first white entertainer performing in the late 1920 with an all BLACK ORCHESTRA on Broadway at a time when all US were racist. Josephine Baker was unhappy because he left her and she wrongly accused him of being a nazi allaborateur.

Read not books ABOUT Chevalier. Read the books Chevalier wrote himself. I read his books and you should read what he had to say about himself, his childhood living in poverty and then becoming a rich Hollywoodstar. You should look at what he has to say, not what others say about him.

I like what you say about that "stabbing in the back" point as a french way of living, but I would exclude Chevalier, Trenet and de Gaulle. They were great!!!

I don't know why, but I could Maurice and Dinah talk all day! I miss the days when entertainers conducted themselves with class. Men came onto stage wearing fine suits and ties, and women wore nice dresses and pearls. Performances like this were terrific; I wish I could have been around to enjoy it while it thrived.

We need to bring those styles back. Everyone, both men and women need to dress better. I'm not forcing formal 24/7, but formal in more areas and a much better casual choice.

oh no he was really mean to Josephine and it is well documented, in fact you can see some of that behaviour in her documentary, Chasing a Rainbow.

« Vous dites il y a Idiot qui n'aime pas MC » bien tous avons des opinions juste comme tous ont les trous d'âne, vous êtes autorisez à votre opinion et je suis autorise à extraire. Et par la façon je n'ai jamais dit que je n'a pas aimé MC, j'ai dit juste qu'il était hostile à JB. Mais au final seulement le deux d'eux savent la vérité, et aucun de nous sait la merde !
