Presidential hopefuls push Iraq agendas

Video Description:
Hello on this Wednesday, April 9, 2008. I'm Rebecca Field in for Kristin Volk with today's UPI top news update.
Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain pushed their positions on the Iraq war yesterday at a high-profile congressional hearing. The hearing included the top U.S. general in Iraq, David Petraeus as well as the ambassador to Iraq, Ryan Crocker. Senator Clinton said it would be irresponsible to continue a failed policy in that country. Senator Obama took a similar position, calling the invasion a massive strategic blunder. But on the Republican side, Senator McCain said that success in Iraq is within reach, and Congress must not choose to lose there.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice say she has no interest in being Senator John McCain's running mate. Rice dismissed rumors yesterday, saying she looks forward to voting as a voter. Her comments come after a leading Republican strategist suggested this week that Rice was building a behind-the-scenes campaign to be McCain's number 2.
San Francisco is bracing for protests today as the Olympic torch makes its way through the city. Thousands of people demonstrated yesterday against China's human rights record when the flame arrived. Officials are hoping to avoid the chaos that disrupted the relay in London and Paris earlier this week. San Francisco is the only U.S. stop for the torch relay, where it ends the first week of a 23-city international tour.
President Bush gave an emotional tribute to a fallen Navy seal yesterday. Michael Monsoor was awarded with a medal of honor yesterday...his parents accepted it on his behalf. Monsoor reportedly jumped on top of a grenade to save the lives of his fellow comrades. He died 30 minutes after the blast. Monsoor's apparently the first SEAL to receive a medal of honor for his work in Iraq.
That's all for now. For more on those stories and all of today's news go to upi.com. Thanks for watching.

Americans just don't realize how people see them throughout the World. Violence brings violence. The current USA government is hated and it reflects directly to the people. The USA needs an Obama to start healing the relationship with other countries before something bigger than 9/11 happens.

If Iraqi officials can allie themselves with Iran, why can't we do the same?
I do not want war to spread. I do not want my brothers to die.
Let's hope this time you brainies think before electing a president.
Well, on the other hand George War Bush is really your president. He's representing the most stupid and narrow-minded nations in the world.
to Americans" and hope we all just lay down and say "OK, go ahead and blow us up." NOT.
Thank you John McCain. If Europeans want to yield to Radical Islamic Terrorism that is their decision. In the USA we will legally resist.
If we leave before they can take over there will be a bloodbath beyond compare. I think that is a bad option.

God has always blessed a man by deed and blessed by measure of those deeds.. Cursings and blessings are determined by God and if a man gets involved in spreading ones blessings to those that may be cursed then PLAY GOD and mock his judgments!
..That would bring a curse on the Nation!
