King James did not write the Bible. He commissioned it's rendering. Theologians produced it.
The simple fact of ... ( 3 weeks ago by jorsak)
The simple fact of the mater is God never condemns the sin. The sinner is the one who chooses of his own freewill to commit that sin which condemns himself in the process.
God loves all to the point that he was willing to give his son to die and pay the price or cost of sin.
But only to those who believe in his name does he gvie the right to become sons of God. (John 1:12)
HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN ... ( 3 weeks ago by bigdon9)
HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THIS
Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, Sacrifice and offering thou hast not desired, but a body thou hast prepared for me. [Hebrews 10:5-6]
The quote is from Psalms 40:6. So lets just check how it is in the Hebrew text of the same verse:
Sacrifice and offering Thou hast not desired; mine ears Thou hast opened. [Psalms 40:6]
Notice the difference?
Imagine God as a ... ( 2 weeks ago by aisle4row8seat113)
Imagine God as a football coach giving his gameplan to quarterback Jesus - "Go down there and run these plays but you won't be able to finish the game because you will be killed but don't worry about that because you are really me but I just can't tell you that until later." Can anyone explain to me how Jesus can sit on the right hand side of himself in heaven?
Ephesians 1 v 20
That would be a ... ( 2 weeks ago by jorsak)
That would be a strange scenario where it actually what occurred. However, it is not.
From the beginning of the law God established the REQUIREMENT of sacrifice for sin. It is plainly stated. It is clear and every Jew and Christian understands this.
Additionally, God also clearly states that he would RATHER NOT have to have sacrifice but instead obedience. However, man's sins REQUIRE IT.
Jesus was sent (Created / born) with the SPECIFIC TASK of dying for the sins of mankind. The death
was not a surprise ... ( 2 weeks ago by jorsak)
was not a surprise or an interruption of the game to use your analogy. It was the very point of the game!
This is PLAINLY evidenced in NUMEROUS passages but is clearly seen in such prophetic passages as Isaiah 53 who speaking of the Messiah stated:
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
So we see CLEARLY that OUR SINS were placed upon him.
8 By oppression and
judgment he was ... ( 2 weeks ago by jorsak)
judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
Here we see that he is "Cut off from the land of the living" (killed)
There are MANY MANY other passages that document the FACT that the Messiah's specific task was to come and DIE for teh sins of man.
And we don't have to go back to the prophets. We can take it straight from the quarterbacks mouth himself.
Jesus states in
Mark 9:31, "The Son ... ( 2 weeks ago by jorsak)
Mark 9:31, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise."
He states in John 10:17-18, "17The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."
And in Matthew 26:28 he tells us WHY he is to die, "28This is my blood
of the covenant, ... ( 2 weeks ago by jorsak)
of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."
So you can't get much clearer than that.
Now, you ask how Jesus can be seated at the right hand of himself.
Let me ask you in return, how can God be seated AT ALL since God is spirit and does not possess physical form.
The passage you reference is an "Anthropomorphism" (A human term to help us understand that which is not in human context of understanding.)
God is triune. Father is head. Son and Holy Spirit
submit to the ... ( 2 weeks ago by jorsak)
submit to the Father. These three are one (Hebrew - Echad).
Just the same in Genesis 2:24 God states that husband and wife are ONE (Echad).
They form ONE marriage. The husband is FULLY married. The wife is FULLY married. Yet they are ONE according to God. While they are completely EQUAL before God, God has appointed the husband as the HEAD of the family.
It is just the same within the trinity. All are fully equal yet the Son submits to the Father.
The "Right hand" is symbolic
of a position of ... ( 2 weeks ago by jorsak)
of a position of authority. Christ in his humanity is the HEAD of the church. That's all the verse means and if you read it in context, that is very clear.
Salaam,
Joe
You're totally ... ( 2 weeks ago by FiskPole)
You're totally wrong that jesus was created to be killed, idiot. Jesus was sent to redeem humanity, not slaughtered. The jews brainwash all the idiots into thinking what they did to jesus wasn't that bad since "that's what he was created for". The blood of jesus is stained on the jews forever due to the christ killing.

"You're totally wrong that jesus was created to be killed, idiot."
To this day I never cease to be amazed how people can, upon their first introduction to someone, call them an idiot or some such slanderous (Liable in this case) remark.
I have neither demonstrated lack of intelligence nor supplied conjectural argumentation as you have.
When you are prepared to engage in civil conversation as an adult, feel free to look me up. But before you do, actually refute the QUOTES FROM JESUS'

Until such time, I see little point in attempting anything of the semblance of intelligent conversation with someone who has as of yet not demonstrated the capacity for it.

AOA.
Too busy to spend a lot of time here. But will say something... rather repeat something and add new stuff.
I said it before:
JOHN 17-4
I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.
This is the only place in the entire Bible where jesus claims he has done his work. He claimed such a thing BEFORE the so called crucifiction.
The facts can not change on this. The statement is absolute and universal. Hence his job was not to die for our sins.
again the wterm is ... ( 6 days ago by letmesee74)
again the wterm is not just BLOOD... but
BLOOD OF THE COVENANT. That is different. It is figurative.

MATHEW 21
33"Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and went away on a journey. 34When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit 35"The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.

36Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way. 37Last of all, he sent his son to them. 'They will respect my son,' he said
38"But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him and take his inheritance.' 39So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him
who do you think the parable is about? the sone here is jesus who the jews will kill (only they will not succeed)
now with regard to ... ( 6 days ago by letmesee74)
now with regard to jesus beong God or not.... let here the words of Jesus himself.
Jesus was accused that he claimed to be God... in JOHN 10-30.
What reply did jesus give to this accusation?
SEE HIS REPLY IN THE SAME CHAPTER AND MATTER IS FINISHED ONCE AND FOR ALL. It would be a knock out punch bybjesus himself.
Jesus said "if you ... ( 5 days ago by fwfassett)
Jesus said "if you have seen me you have seen the Father (God)" and he also claimed to be the great "I AM" God of the Jews. In John 12:23-24 Jesus replied, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds." He also told Pilate that God had given Pilate authority to put Him to death. Jesus laid down His life. No one took his life.

The purpose of Jesus was not to commit suicide. What kind of terrible example would that be to all the children if he commited suicide by letting the jews and romans kill him? No, Jesus only had powers bestowed upon him in a few instances otherwise he was like every other man. Jesus only preached for 3 measly years which wasn't nearly enough to build a legacy. All of the words by Jesus in the NT would equate to a 50 minute speech.
