"Damn Nature You Scary" lol.
This was probably due to a mountain side sliding into the sea. We had a small scale version of that same incident where I used to live. This hillside fell into the lake and caused a huge wave that was 40 ft tall. Now that was crazy but, this is just incredible.

1740 ft. wave. look it up. biggest wave ever recorded and was caused by an earthquake measuring 8.3 on the Richter scale that caused mass wasting in the form of a landslide that created the monster wave. I've never heard of anything that huge until i watched this...

That the wave was almost 500 meters (1720 ft) high is just ridiculous. It is claimed the wave removed vegetation and trees as high up as 1720 feet up, but that doesn't mean the actual WAVE was as high as that. It just means the splash when it hit land reached as high as that.
