The windsor building is no comparison: different building design, and, lest we forget, the towers were hit by large jets traveling at a high velocity, much more than the design covered. To me it seems, that there is a trade-off between floor space and structural strength; hence, the tube design's failure to withstand the impact and subsequent fire damage.

This is BS. The planes took out and destroyed multiple floors and there were explosions and fires. The WTC was hanging by a few columns, almost like hanging by a thread. When the "thread" snapped, MANY gave way and those gave way and those gave way leading to a chain reaction. PLUS the fire that weakened the steel already. It wasn't JUST the fire as the video suggested, it was all of these things combined. No building can survive that kind of impact.
