Its not about who has the better licks ... they are both masters. But I prefer Otis style on this song far more its cleaner phrasing (not talking about the damn tone) and ideas are much stronger. He is an old blues man who outshines Clapton on this occasion.

Often under acknowledged......Otis gets more out of one blues note than any dozen gitar players put together--Otis is the blues...one of the last great blues masters with the best tortured blues voice in the history of the world.

It's hard to get the Otis / Albert tone because they both played left handed, but string their guitars for a right hander (low "E" on the bottom). Coco Montoya, Dick Dale, and Doyall Bramhall III do the same thing.

Clapton's voice actually has a great breakup when he digs down. I think he can be as good a singer as he is a guitar player. Love From the Cradle.

it seems as if otis rush and eric clapton werent too fond of each other or some problem of that sort since clapton was considered a god and otis
was "born under a bad sign" if you will i mean the line "hey double trouble its just me i think seems to be directed at clapton since this song is about his financial misfortunes that clapton knew nothing about.

What a shame that Otis' microphone was dead when he started into his verse of this blues masterpiece. A nice performance overall though. Clapton does a respectable job on this song as well, but Otis is a more soulful singer overall.
