You can't say that I'm wrong in god's eyes, as I'm going by gods message with that statement.

yes marriage can be made in faith... but church is not the only thing with it. Wicca weddings is one. Norse weeding too and that has nothing to do with our Gods, The ceremony is all about 2 people coming together in nature to bind themselves to each others as is their will.
Also many people that don't believe in anything higher then man get married. Without any religion.
It can be both governmental and Religious, but it also can be just two people confirming their devotion to each other.

Allowing gay marriage would not force your church to acknowledge anything.
A lot of people, including yourself it seems, are under the impression that gay marriage would affect the churches and it won't, at all. Churches will still be allowed to discriminate against whoever they wish and believe whatever the hell they want.
