Newsflash Bill Hicks was great but even he was'nt the originator of material like this. There were even guys doing similar material at the same time he was doing it. Ever heard of Lenny Bruce? Well as far as I know he was the first. Besides you want to talk about being cliche Crosby and Seinfeld fit that bill to. They are funny but their routines are essentially about nothing just like 90% of the other comeians out there. Personally I rate a comedian that talks about issues slightly higher.

certainly he was inspired by bill hicks and covers a lot of the same issues, but his material is original. Its not like he denies it, on one of his DVDs bill hicks gets a mention in the credits.
thing i like about both bill and doug are that although they sound angry and bitter, they're angry and bitter because they care more about their fellow man and well being than the people who they're making jokes about. the targets of the jokes are always people who make life that little bit more dull

Look when I get drunk I want to go out, which means I probably will drive. I get to the bar already hammered. Comedy like this is so much fuckin better than those bitch ass comics who get on stage and go "GUYS WE ARE SLAVES TO WOMEN! YOU LADIES ARE IN CHARGE!
